About the system
The steering robot mounts on the vehicle's existing steering wheel and applies programmed steering inputs with far higher repeatability than a human driver. Its hollow-shaft design leaves the airbag in place and needs no permanent change to the vehicle. Gear-driven, direct-drive and heavy-vehicle versions cover ADAS, vehicle dynamics and durability testing from passenger cars to buses.
Technical scope
- 20–160 Nm
- Up to 2500°/s
- 48 V
Test functions and capabilities
- Euro NCAP and IIHS ADAS test procedures (lane keeping, emergency lane keeping, avoidance manoeuvres)
- Vehicle dynamics manoeuvres: step steer, sine, frequency sweep, lane change
- Synchronised operation with pedal robots and target platforms
- Path following together with GNSS/INS measurement systems
- Hollow shaft: airbag stays functional, quick installation and removal
